The project was awarded in March 2015, with construction work starting on 14 September of the same year.An average of 80 workers were employed for the construction work, with peaks of up to 110 workers.

Expansion of the 400 kV compound of the Soto de Ribera (Ferreros) substation, including the engineering, supply, electrical and mechanical assembly and civil works of two 400 kV lanes called Calle 5 and Calle 6, including the supply to and installation of the necessary control, protection and communications housings. This 400 kV compound has an interrupter and a half configuration in a conventional weatherproof plant. In addition, the supply to, assembly of and civil works were carried out for the gateway of two 400 kV transmission lines to carry out the 400kV overhead-to-underground transition.
